Why Carla Chose The Japandi Cot Bed For Her Minimalist Nursery

Posted by Beatriz Ramirez on

Finding the perfect cot for your little one can feel overwhelming, especially with so many styles and features to consider. To help make the decision easier, we asked Carla Escobar (@car.escobar) to share her experience with our Japandi Cot Bed – a beautifully crafted piece that blends clean Scandinavian lines with calming Japanese design. From first impressions to everyday use, here’s what she had to say about creating a serene nursery space for her baby.

How Does The Japandi Cot Bed Reflect Your Personal Taste?

The Japandi style perfectly combines minimalism with warmth, which aligns with my aesthetic. The light oak finish and clean lines add a calm, timeless touch to Phoebe’s nursery, making it both stylish and soothing. Her room has always been my favourite in the house since we moved, and the cot was the perfect finishing touch.

How Do You Balance Aesthetics With Practicality When Choosing Nursery Furniture, And How Did This Cot Meet Those Needs?

Practicality is key in nursery furniture, but I believe aesthetics shouldn’t be sacrificed. The Japandi Cot Bed offers a sturdy, safe design that’s easy to use, while its elegant look enhances the overall nursery vibe, creating a peaceful environment for Phoebe.

The rattan panels add a special detail that makes everything that I mentioned before just perfectly fit with what I wanted to achieve with the cot.

What Detail Or Design Element Do You Love Most About The Japandi?

I love the simplicity of the clean lines and the natural wood finish, which add a sophisticated yet warm feel to the nursery. It’s versatile enough to grow with Phoebe as she gets older.

Would You Recommend The Japandi Cot Bed To Other Parents, And Why?

Absolutely! It’s beautifully designed, practical, and made from high-quality materials. I feel confident knowing Phoebe’s safe and comfortable in it, and I think other parents would appreciate its style and durability.

I get so many questions on the items we use all the time, and on when we would be moving Phoebe to a bed - my answer is, that she has enough space and a beautifully designed cot that we can transform anytime, we won't rush it and let her tell us when she is ready.

How Has Your Baby Responded To The Cot? Did She Settle In Quickly?

Phoebe adjusted well. The cot’s spacious design and calming aesthetic seem to help her feel secure and relaxed, making bedtime smoother.

She has always been a fantastic sleeper, but changing her from the cot she used for six months to the Japandi when we moved was a risk - I am so happy we did it. The transition was so seamless, and I am super content with the way everything looks now.

Whether you're just starting to plan your nursery or looking for the final piece to complete the space, Carla’s experience with the Japandi Cot Bed is a reminder that practicality and design can go hand in hand. With its clean lines, warm tones, and adaptable features, it’s a choice that grows with your child and fits beautifully into modern family life.
